Katoomba Ecosystem
Services Incubator

an initiative of the Katoomba
Group and
Forest Trends. The Incubator provides integrated, early-stage design support to a
portfolio of ecosystem services projects in Latin America and Africa
with strong community and biodiversity benefits.
Replication of Water Funds
With the support of Ashoka and
Mulago Foundation,
EcoDecision is strengthening its capacity to provide sustainable
water management services, insure impact and scale up its efforts.
With Grupo GEA from
Perú efforts are underway to develop a water fund to protect water
sources for Lima and replicate the experience to other cities in
the country.
Together with FONAG and
the Northern Tropical Andes Program of The Nature Conservancy (TNC),
supported by USAID, we are working on the replication of water funds
in other Ecuadorian cities and regions (Cuenca, Zamora and Espindola
and Tungurahua).
Research and Training
With CONDESAN,
a consortium of organizations working for the sustainable development
of the Andes, EcoDecision is participating in action-oriented research
to review all watershed protection initiatives underway which value
watershed services in the region.
With the Ecosystem
Marketplace,
EcoDecision is tracking the development of what could eventually
be called a hydrological services market.
